Post a speed test from http://www.speedtest.net/ (To LA since that's where the server is located) http://www.speedtest.net/result/913653411.png (http://www.speedtest.net)
Average Latency while raiding? On my current server, 60-70ms, when I logged onto Akama to check, it was around 80ms.
Average FPS in raid during a boss? At max settings during the most intensive fights, it's around 30-40.
C. Raiding and Character information
1. Character Name | Spec | Class
Nozyk|Fire (18/53/0)|Troll --->Gnome
2. Are you a clicker?
No, as you can see from my UI screen shot, all the abilities I use are keybound.
3. Do you have any notable alts?
I have a well-geared prot paladin, resto druid, and aff/demo lock. All, when ICC was progression, were ICC geared and used for raid stacking.
4. What is your raiding experience Pre-BC? In BC? WoTLK? Specify if in a leadership role.
Unfortunately, during classic and TBC, I simply did not have the time to commit to raiding. It is depressing because I feel like I missed out on potentially one of the most interesting times of the game. I did play and have my mage during those times, but raiding was simply not an option.
However, in WoTLK, I've killed every boss except 25 Algalon, 25 Yogg 0, heroic LK (10/25), and heroic 25 Halion.
5. Provide an armory link to your character and a wowhead link to your normal raiding spec.
Nozyk Armory (http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Bloodhoof&cn=Nozyk)
6. You will need lots of consumables to keep up with the pace during progression raids. Do you have the will and time to put in enough effort to keep an adequate amount? Yes; I still make sure that I have enough pots and flasks for each raid, and even flame caps.
7. Will you come to a progression raid having already read any available information relevant to encounters?
Absolutely, this is a must. I'm always reading all available material on a boss fight; notes from PTR practice (if I wasn't in the PTR working on the boss), youtube videos, anything on mmo-champion/EJ about the fight - basically any and all information I could possible gather to make sure I'm not the one slowing the raid down, and performing at my absolute max.
8. What do you think about beginning raids early and staying beyond the required raid times to down new content?
This is something that, being in a high-end progressive guild, should be expected. I have absolutely no problem working and pushing harder to make sure we achieve the desired goals that the raid has set.
9. Post a WWS report / Wow Meter Online of a few recent raids in your guild. If your guild does not run these, post a screenshot(s) of your recount for some boss encounters. (DO NOT LEAVE THIS OUT)
The guild's WoL link - http://www.worldoflogs.com/guilds/558/
Specific fights:
Festergut (http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/77308nxusmevb8vw/analyze/dd/source/?s=1251&e=1478
) (15.9k dps, 88% LB uptime)
Rotface (http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/77308nxusmevb8vw/analyze/dd/source/?s=1692&e=1881) (15k, 88% LB uptime)
A few personal notes: If you notice from the logs, our raid has not had a demo lock nor an ele shaman, greatly hampering the spellcasters DPS. Moreover, this past week we did have a demo lock, and the person who normally logs the raid forgot. Frustrating certainly, but typical. Needless to say, and without any empirical proof it is hard to show, my DPS was much greater this week (approximately 17.5k on Festergut, 16k on Council this week). However, these numbers mean absolutely nothing without the logs.
Lastly, I am wholly confident in my abilities to perform at the level of AT's current mages.
10. Post a screenshot of your UI while in a raid environment (in combat). (Give a list of any relevant addons not shown.)
Nozyk 10 man UI (http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/9844/wowscrnshot080410220250.jpg)
Nozyk 25 man UI (http://img808.imageshack.us/img808/7828/wowscrnshot072710221205.jpg)
I believe all the pertinent addons are shown; DBM, omen, powerauras, omnicc, and grid.
D. Dual Spec
1. What is your secondary spec?
Arcane, 57/3/11
2. Are you able to play it as well as your main spec?
Yes, I still have gear that is better suited for arcane.
3. Are you willing to change your main spec and/or secondary spec for guild needs?
Yes
E. Professions
1. What are your 2 professions? if they are not maxed to the level of profession perks, why not?
JC/tailoring
2. If you have a gathering profession, what is stopping you from dropping it for a profession that benefits your stats more?
N/A
F. Other Questions
1. What guild are you currently in? Who is/was the GM? Include their website.
Dark Pact/ Desdea / Dark Pact (http://www.dark-pact-gaming.com/forum/)
2. Why are you leaving your current guild?
After explaining to a real life friend the troubles with beginning to emerge from a previous guild, he suggested I apply to his guild. Being worried about encountering similar problems as with my old guild, I spoke with the GM at length to assuage any uncertainties I might have. Sadly, he may have mislead me as after only being in the guild for 3-4 weeks (I'm still an app), I can quickly tell that nobody shows up outside of Tuesday (including the GM). Simply put, I do not feel this guild is going anywhere, and it currently offers very little competition amongst members.
3. Do you play actively outside of raiding?
Yes, if I'm not working on achievements, I'm playing another alt.
4. Are you able to take and improve upon harsh criticism? Yes, and if ever someone had criticisms I would certainly take them in stride to help me become a better player.
5. There will be bench time. Everyone will have to sit at one point in time or another. Are you okay with this? Yes of course, as long as it wasn't long term. I would prove to AT why I should be raiding over the other.
6. Why are you interested in joining Acquired Taste? do you currently know anyone in Acquired Taste?
I don't know anyone in the guild.
Acquired Taste has a long standing reputation of a high level, solid, and fluid performance;which is reflected not only in their players but also in their rankings. I want to be apart of a small community of high-caliber players for the remainder of WotLK and through Cataclysm.
Additionally, AT should expect nothing out of me other than my absolute best. I believe I have a strong offering to the guild; I am a smart, dedicated, and determined player. I always show up to raids, and I'm always putting forth maximum effort in every raid; whether on farm status or not. (Additionally, if the previous weeks logs where were readily available, you would have noticed I used flame caps on every fight - now that I was finally able to get some).
Lastly, I believe I would be a valued addition to the guild's roster, challenging their current mages, while simultaneously learning and growing as a player.
I wouldn't have wasted AT's nor my time applying to this guild if I did not think I'd be able to be a competitive and useful addition to the guild. If given the chance, I will work tirelessly to prove that I am worth a trial.
7. What are the other guilds you applied to? any particular reason why you are shopping for multiple guilds? No
8. How can we contact you outside of the game? AIM, Email, etc...
