Well I started playing this game a little before BC came out. Leveled to 70 just shortly after and raided my way through kara and gruuls then I got serious. Joined a SSC guild and went though SSC, TK, and the first part of BT. Then I joined HKC and went though some of BT and was in a few of there first downings in sunwell. Felmyst and twins if I remember correctly. Then I decided to run my own guild. We cleared most of TK and Hyjal workiing our way into BT when wrath came out. We leveled and started into NAXX clearing it. Moving onto Sarth and Malygos. Took a short break right as ulduar came out but got back just in time for TOC. Cleared TOC and TOGC 10 and cleared 25 TOC. In ICC I have cleared 10 and 25 normal and 10/12 in 10H and 9/12 in 25H.

5. Provide an armory link to your character and a wowhead link to your normal raiding spec.

6. You will need lots of consumables to keep up with the pace during progression raids. Do you have the will and time to put in enough effort to keep an adequate amount?
I normally keep a stack of 20 flasks and well as haste pots and food on me at all times. It is very easy to make gold in this game.

7. Will you come to a progression raid having already read any available information relevant to encounters?
I always use all resources available to me to read up an an encounter so I know exatly what to do to perform at top quality.

8. What do you think about beginning raids early and staying beyond the required raid times to down new content?
Beginning early could possibly be an issue but as for staying late I have absolutly no problem with staying an hour or 2 later for progression.

9. Post a WWS report / Wow Meter Online of a few recent raids in your guild. If your guild does not run these, post a screenshot(s) of your recount for some boss encounters. (DO NOT LEAVE THIS OUT)

BQ was before the bite also.

10. Post a screenshot of your UI while in a raid environment (in combat). (Give a list of any relevant addons not shown.)

D. Dual Spec

1. What is your secondary spec?Demo

2. Are you able to play it as well as your main spec?I do and I have no problems raiding as either spec. I can also play affliction but whatever the guild needs I am ready to do.

3. Are you willing to change your main spec and/or secondary spec for guild needs? Absolutly. Wheather its throwing chaos bolts or soul fires at the boss essentially dps is dps.

E. Professions

1. What are your 2 professions? if they are not maxed to the level of profession perks, why not? My 2 professions are tailoring and inscription. They are both maxed.

2. If you have a gathering profession, what is stopping you from dropping it for a profession that benefits your stats more? I dropped these along time ago.

F. Other Questions

1. What guild are you currently in? Who is/was the GM? Include their website.
Currently I am in HKC. The Gm is Warant. Here is the website http://hkcakama.dkpsystem.com/news.php

2. Why are you leaving your current guild?
I am looking to leave because I need to find a home for my warlock. I have been activly raiding on my druid but am looking to switch over to my lock and finally have the gear to do so and be competative in doing so. I am extremly good at my class and know what I am doing. I am also very aware of everything that is going on around me.

3. Do you play actively outside of raiding?
I absolutly do. When it comes to wow if you can think of it I've probably done it. Anything from running old instances to arena or really anything to help friends out i tend to have no problem doing.

4. Are you able to take and improve upon harsh criticism?
Absolutly. And I can give it out just as much.

5. There will be bench time. Everyone will have to sit at one point in time or another. Are you okay with this? I have no problems with this.

6. Why are you interested in joining Acquired Taste? do you currently know anyone in Acquired Taste?
To be the best you have to play with the best. I have always been hardcore into raiding and I feel making this transition(if I'm accepted) would be the first step into me becoming one of those elite players that people talk about even after he's gone. I know funkymusic(not proud of that).

7. What are the other guilds you applied to? any particular reason why you are shopping for multiple guilds?
This is my one and only application. If I am not accepted I will probably stay where I am.

8. How can we contact you outside of the game? My email is Dotzkill@hotmail.com.

Amazing character name

Do you know how long it took me to think of this name. Like 10 seconds. But on a plus side a fail name has nothing to do with a skilled player.

I'm not hating, apparently mine is or close to the name of the lion in narnia which was NOT my intention.

Wouldn't it make more sense to put an end dps parse from Recount? All of your parses look like they're in mid-combat. Anybody can pull high numbers from popping trinkets/consumables mid-combat. Though 10k is not all that impressive with 30%.

You sir are 100% right. I can get more more tonight probably. Maybe on a hailion fight where moving is required so it gives you a better idea of what I am capable of. And - the 30% BS. Edit: And I realize 10k isn't that impressive but it was the only logs I had around.

Let us first off start with your incorrect use of gems.

Crushing Coldwraith Belt has a red & blue socket, and then of course a prismatic socket by using a belt buckle. Now simple math would imply that you would use a purifed and 2 Runed to maximize dps. Mind answering why you went with 2 purified? Are you intentionally lowering your dps?

And of course you could argue that you are using the additional spirit for use of the Glyph of Life Tap, except well wait a second here.... You aren't using that glyph. Which even with only the 300 spirit you have (clearly more in a raid situation) is intentionally gimping yourself of ~60 constant SP.

I suppose it would be prudent to touch on your spec slightly as well. Now for your case I can see why you have to run with the 3/13/55 spec, considering as you stand you are 10.86% +3% from talents. So as long as you have all of the raid buffs (Spriest/Boomking and a Draenei) you're okay. However, I would love an explanation as to why you choice 2/2 Improved Healthstone as opposed to 3/3 in Improved Imp, considering that your imp is an integral part of your DPS as a destruction lock (see Empowered Imp).

And then of course on to your Demo build. Now I have almost zero problem with this build except for one main thing. You chose 3/3 Nemesis in place of 3/3 Improved Demonic Tactics. The reasoning behind this I could not even begin to fathom considering your pets critical strikes is the one and only thing that applies the Demonic Pact buff to your raid. So if you were aiming for a personal DPS gain by further lowering the cooldown of those skills, than you have completely missed the point of the demonology raiding spec altogether. It is a dps/support spec. You're job is to be damn sure that your raid has demonic pact 100% of the time, which would imply that you want 3/3 improved demonic tactics to ensure that your pet crits as often as humanly possible. And of course again with this spec, you have failed to make use of the Glyph of Life Tap.

Alright I will try to answer all your questions.

1. Gem in belt. It was the only gem I had in my bag at the time. I know its not a valid excuse but easy to fix.

2. Destro spec. The reasoning behind my spec with 1 point out of improved imp and into healthstone is I tend to pug with my lock atm. The need for the extra health from the stone has helped down bosses with the horrible Akama population of healers.(Not really the best excuse but if you have pugged at all you know what I’m talking about)

3. Glyphs: Destro Immolate VS Life tap. Now there is a place where one glyph is better than the other. That area is right around 300 spirit where Life tap actually becomes better than immolate but pre 300 spirit immolate is actually higher dps. Now switching that 1 gem out will put me under 300 so until I switch out any gear for gear with more spirit on it there is no point of me changing my glyph.

4. Glyphs Demo. I actually do use LT for this spec. If you look right now I am using shadow flame which I obviously don’t use to raid with. I was messing around in some arena with my demo spec.

5. Demo spec. I realize that this is a support spec. And yes you need to make sure that the whole raid has demonic pact 100% of the time. Let’s crunch some numbers. Now DP lasts for 45sec with a 20sec CD. So from the CD it gives you 25 sec for your demon to crit once. If your felguard attacks every 2 sec (2/25=12.5) but lets go with 10 attacks in those 25 sec. So your pet has to crit 1/10 hits. So essentially you would need 10% crit for your demon in order to accomplish this. Now with 5/5 in demonic tactics you accomplish this. Now that’s only taking into account that is the only crit your demon will receive. So there is really no need to waiste talent points, so yes I decided to try and improve my dps.

Hopefully that answers all your questions for now and I will answer any more questions to follow.

3rd and 5th point makes sense, which is why I didn't go into the glyph of life tap more. And I am impressed by the responses as a whole.

However 1 and 2 are pretty much you being lazy and in point number 2 is pretty much beating around the bush and blaming it on healer fail. Imo if you are going to app into a guild like at who are WELL know for flaming apps don't be lazy. Make sure that you are min/maxed, your spec is correct (you are not puging with us you want to RAID with us). Anyways that is just my two cents.

The rule for life tap glyph as i remember it, is if you get soul leech and imp. soul leech you can skip glyph of life tap. However, I'm unsure if thats still the case.

You already said you would be fixing your gems, but while I'm here you should only have Purified gems in your Head and Legs. the rest should be Runed or Reckless depending if you get the socket bonus of course.

Having to put 3 points into Suppression hurts you as a Destro lock.

My only question would be, why are you be playing Destro over the other two specs? since 3.3 it has been the lowest DPS spec. I'm not saying its terrible. but if you are trying to maximize DPS I would think you would be Aff.

Actually as of 3.3 the 56-0-15 affliction build is top followed by the 0-13-58 destruction build. Now I realize my spec is a little differnet because I need to spec into suppression, but the overall damage output will be the same. I will just have a little more downtime because I would have to life tap a little more often(So yes those 3 points hurt alot from this aspect). But even if you compared demo to affliction its only a 600dps increase. So it all comes down to what the raid needs as a whole to succeed.

I'm not saying it isn't alot but the buff that demo brings is way more than 600 dps. But if you look at it as an individual based number it is a hell of alot. But that is comparing the worst dps spec to the best. Destruction is somewhere in the middle.

So after reading this app i must say in all my times talking to locks, in helping others and from my personal experience i find this to be one of the most absolute fail apps i have ever had the privilege to look at and might i say i have known some gawd awful locks like my friend who has 500+ hit as affliction. First off just looking at your destro spec makes me cringe in so many ways that i dared not even look at your gear but alas i did, and in doing so found that you are completely incompetent when it comes to itemization. So from me to you i can honestly say LEARN YOUR EFFING CLASS AND MAKE UP YOUR MIND ON SPEC/GEAR before you waste another guilds time. if you have any question i am always open to helping out.

First of thanks for this response. It really opened my eyes. I looked you and your specs up on the armory, did some reading, and found out why you responded the way you did. Now I'm sure not having everything in order the first time has fucked my chances of getting in. But I fixed everything and due to your comment was able to hit 12k dps last night in a 10m. Mainly thanks starwnd for being a dick, it made me a better player.
