I will be updating this thread with any and all available new information regarding Death Knights. This thread will cover both DPS and Tanking roles. I did stuff like this in my last guild and I don't mind doing it here. Keeping up to date with the latest changes ensures top play.

Please feel free to post here with any questions/requests/comments about the class, specs, gearing, gemming and rotations.

run away from orange slimes

that is all

EDIT: But seriously, with the buffs to frost I can't wait for the next patch. Doesn't seem like i'd change my spec at all though. I think a spec with Dark Conviction instead of Necrosis/Blood Caked Blade, is gonna be preferable. 15/54/2, and Glyph of Howling Blast, Frost Strike, and Obliterate.

With the buffs to Frost especially the buff to haste(45%!!!), BCB and Necrosis will be must have talents. I'll be surprised if a blood sub-spec beats out and Unholy one. The sims right now are off the charts but it's difficult to sim Frost as it is heavily reliant on using procs to the fullest. 0/54/17 is where it's at :) 1 point in Subversion if you reeaallly need the threat reduction. The inherit abilities of Frost already have such a high crit modifier built in and ICC stuff is crit aplenty. I need a solid offhand and I'll be ready to go.

This is my first time spec'ing frost dps. I tried the blood subspec, just to mess around I talented 6 deathrunes. My rp generation was off the charts and I couldn't dump it fast enough frost seems really fun. I love the procs just setting off power auras left and right. I'm looking forward to the upcoming buff to frost. Next I'll try a serious bcb spec after the minor content patch.

Gotta p/u a good oh from the gdkp run this saturday....

As of right now frost is summing higher than the other too. Frost is the hardest of the three to sim however with the nature of it's priority system and maximizing KM Rime procs vs. KM Frost Strike.

0/54/17 will be the spec of choice with 1/52/18 if you must have the threat reduction or have poop tanks. The rotation, err priority will use glyph of disease for maximum obliterates. Sigil of awareness beats the other two on pure single target fights.

Slow/slow weapons are still the order of the day. I've seen some sims where people were gemming arp to hit the cap (1400) and were seeing some insane numbers. Stat weights should look similar to blood values with expertise being very important due to the lack of free gcd's in the priority. I've yet to see my stat weights shift in favor of arp just yet, mostly due to the big chunk from dbw, but I'm definitely looking to gem arp in the coming weeks. When the buff hits 20% blood will pull ahead of unholy in bis gear and I would imagine frost to be damn close.

Either it's exciting and I'm looking forward to the changes for this upcoming week. The damage buff being applied to pet certainly wouldn't hurt unholy dps as well. I'll post with some comparisons after I get some practice in with frost.

The time is upon us and the dk changes are pretty significant. I'll post my thoughts and opinions after tonite/tomorrows raid to see where we stand on frost/blood/unholy dps. I'm pretty excited to try out dw frost as it has promised big things. More to follow.

Tried out 0/53/18 with 4/5 Killing Machine and 3/5 black ice. So far 1 point in subversion is simming slightly higher. The threat reduction is nice too since on Blood queen I was second at 10k for the entire fight. Testing out the new spec tonite on festergut to really see what it can do. With awareness sigil, oblits were hitting 25k+, yikes.
